RAT-STATS – Statistical Software | Office of Inspector General | Government oversight

By on July 10, 2016 0

RAT-STATS is a free statistical software package that suppliers can download to assist in reviewing complaints. The software package, created by the OIG in the late 1970s, is also the primary statistical tool of the OIG’s Office of Audit Services.

Among other tasks, the software helps the user select random samples and estimate inappropriate payments. We have tried to make RAT-STATS as user-friendly as possible, bearing in mind that the program uses technical statistical terms. OIG does not provide technical support for RAT-STATS.

Although the OIG does not require the use of RAT-STATS, many vendors download the software for the purpose of satisfying claims review requirements for corporate integrity agreements or self-reporting protocol. -disclosure of suppliers.
