Launch of the statistical software Q-DAS v13 – Metrology and quality news

Q-DAS GmbH, part of the Manufacturing Intelligence division of Hexagon, has launched version 13 of the statistical software Q-DAS enriched with new functionalities and intelligent modules. This latest version improves performance and usability for an intuitive user experience while supporting a greater number of interfaces.

Version 13 expands the Q-DAS portfolio of web-based software products by introducing Q-DAS RTM Web, a real-time monitoring tool for viewing any type of attribute, and Q-DAS QCP, a quality control panel for viewing the state of different production processes in a factory. Q-DAS QCP will be the single entry point for all Q-DAS users to start working with the software, providing dashboard functionality for information and waypoints to start exploring quality issues. . The existing Q-DAS browser-based product qs-STAT Web now also offers line selection for top-down navigation throughout the production process.

Q-DAS V13 users will benefit from two new options when interacting directly with measuring devices and machines. Q-DAS DS is a dynamic sampling option that helps operators already using O-QIS procella to reduce the number of samples to be taken in a certain period by adjusting the optimal sampling period. Q-DAS DI helps optimize the scope of parts inspection programs and is also an optional add-on to Q-DAS O-QIS. It reduces the number of characteristics to be measured in a control and thus optimizes measurement times.

Q-DAS version 13 is also starting to unleash the power of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Optionally, users can apply machine learning algorithms to find the best suitable distribution model. Additionally, an innovative Python interface module allows operators to apply machine learning and AI algorithms from any source to process data.
A further upgrade to the ease of use and efficiency offered with Q-DAS 3D-CAD is the ability to generate a full Q-DAS inspection plan based on a supplied 3D CAD model. The software easily transfers these inspection plans to PC-DMIS, helping operators to create part routines.

Version 13 makes all Q-DAS statistical software products available for the first time on a flexible subscription-based licensing model. The individual software products also feature a number of usability improvements, including better support for positional tolerances and multivariate characteristics, new and advanced graphics, and an optimized user experience for tablets.
